This site provides information about chess governed by The Buckinghamshire County Chess Association, and gives details about active Chess Clubs, their meeting times and their locations. Use the navigation bar at the bottom of this page to visit other parts of the site.

The County currently enters teams in both the Open and U160 sections of the Chiltern League

The Open section is run over ten boards and is played as four jamboree style events.

The U160 which is run as a league home and away between the four counties involved, Bucks, Berks, Hants and Oxon.

These events take place at weekends, usually on Saturday and are effectively open to anybody who wishes to play and has a connection to Bucks whether through membership of a club affiliated to the county, residence, or birth.

A small match fee may be charged to cover expenses for home matches.

In addition to these county matches, the BCCA organises two competitions - a club league and a tournament for individuals. Both consist of two divisions.
